Pressure Canning 101

HANDS ON/DEMO  A pressure cooker can take your canning to the next level by allowing you to reach temperatures you cannot reach with a simple hot water bath. The high temperatures make it possible to safely can even low acidic foods like green beans, soups, stews, beans and more year round. Take home a jar of canned food for your pantry.

Winter is a great time to learn how to preserve food. Discover how you can make your own condiments such as Sage Wine Mustard and Singapore Dipping Sauce. Find out how to can in jars using safe, USDA approved, boiling water bath canning methods. Participants will make and take home their own jars of condiments.

Watch as the instructor demonstrates recipes for Beef Monterey (Mexican) and Risotto Made the Easy Way and enjoy tasting the outcome. Bring your own pressure cooker if you have one and have questions.
